Bauhaus armchairs Erich Dieckman
A rare pair of Bauhaus armchairs designed by Erich Dieckman. Dieckman was a important Bauhaus designer who started out with stringent geometrical furniture. After a while he incorporated more organic forms using solid wood like beech and oak. Another feature he often used was sea grass rope. These natural materials were combined with standard proportions to enable craftsmen to produce for a larger public. He collaborated with the workshop of Vroom & Dreesman (Germany) in the early 1930's. Good original finish, structurally solid. Mild wear to finish from age and use.
