Contemporary Oilpainting by Hymn of Silence ‘Rupture’

Annelies, the painter of this work, works under the name 'Hymn of Silence'. As she progresses trough life, searching for balance or going with the flow, her art translates her evolution. Embracing the fickleness of life she lets coincidence and faith decide how and what her next work will be. The combination of color, light and texture are build layer upon layer as old masters used to do. Inspired by nature and a deep knowledge of ancient artisanal techniques her paintings captivate the attention of the viewer and succeed in connecting on a deep level. In this work layers of texture are put on to one another after which its partly removed again. The texture is made up from organic materials recycled from the artists other activities as a ceramic and senses artist. When color, material and size all ad up she breaks the natural perfection by a rupture, a breaking of the blend of materials. She can partially control this but leaves it up to the work itself... almost as if the art work suddenly breaths for air. Finally she intervenes again and stops the reactions in the materials.
