15th Century Monumental Monolithic Stone Slab with Fossiles
A 15th century French recuperated floor slab of huge proportions. Because of its beauty, unusual size and the richness of fossilles we decided to mount this piece as a sculpture.
We found it underneath a 17th century burgundy flooring in a land house with roots in medieval times. The main chimneypiece was sculpted out of the backside of the original which was only visible when we took it out, the parquet was nailed on to large poplar boards, etc.
This house was full of surprises as this piece well testifies.
