Anatolian Ceramic Idol, Early Bronze Age circa 2700-2400 BCE
A interesting example of a kusura type bronze age idol. These are usually found in marble but this one is in ceramic. These idols represent a stylized female shape and represent fertility and life. Simular idols are known all over the world since neolithic times. Particular for the early anatolion culture is a distinctive violin shape.
The fluent, elegant, lines are complemented with a faded 2 tone patina accentuated by the abstract geometrical decoration.
Overall a compelling piece that has a timeless aura.
Presented on a custom black wooden base.
