Architectural fragment stone

A French sandstone architectural fragment. Dating from the Gothic period this keystone probably supported bowed arches or domes placed upon a column. The sobre geometrical design accentuating the curves of the arches. This fragment is in fine condition with lovely patina. It serves well as a freestanding object in a curiosity cabinet or on a pedestal in larger rooms.
