fountain birdbath

A elegant 18th century sandstone planter on colomn. The lobbed bowl on a baluster shaped foot. In good condition with original patina and moss incrustation. Originally these bassins were used as birdbaths or they were used as planters. Stilisticly the base points towards a Neoclassical style while the bassin is lobbed. This lobbed edge was used a lot in the 17th century but stayed popular in garden ornaments up untill present day.
