Large 19th Century Stone Sphere

Stone spheres as these where made from antiquity to the present day. As a universal form it served as a ornamental object in gardens, architecture and interiors but also had a deeper spiritual meaning. It was for example believed that spheres protected the owner from negativity. In Asia this purpose was even deeper explored.
